American Mardy Fish is finding it hard to come terms with the fact that he is competing in his 12th US Open.

Mardy Fish has expressed his disbelief at the number of times that he has participated at the US Open.

This year's ongoing Grand Slam will be his 12th consecutive appearance at Flushing Meadows.

"I can't believe that it's been 12 years I have been playing here just about every year," the 30-year-old told reporters.

"It still doesn't feel normal. It's still an incredible feeling to be here and to be doing what I dreamed of as a kid."

Fish was speaking following his round one victory over Go Soeda last night.
