British hopeful Heather Watson has claimed that she is eager to get her US Open campaign underway with an early challenge against Li Na.
The 20-year-old, who reached the third round at Wimbledon this summer, will take on the Cincinnati Open winner in the first round at Flushing Meadows this afternoon.
"To play against a top-10 player, a Grand Slam winner, gives me a huge opportunity to play her, show her what I'm capable of," Watson told BBC Sport.
"It's a chance to play these top girls more often and I've never played Li Na but I'm looking forward to it."
Meanwhile, British number one and Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray has insisted that he will be at the top of his game for the tournament in New York.
