Three-time US Open champion Kim Clijsters has cruised through to the second round of this year's tournament by beating 16-year-old Victoria Duval in 51 minutes.
Clijsters converted three out of four break points to claim the opening set 6-3, before steamrollering her inexperienced opponent to take the second 6-1.
Haitian-American Duval, who is ranked 562nd in the world, made just one winner in the entire match, while Clijsters produced 23.
Clijsters will play Great Britain's Laura Robson in the second round.
