Petra Kvitova books her spot in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon with a 7-6 6-3 victory over Carla Suarez Navarro.

Petra Kvitova has booked her place in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon with a 7-6 6-3 victory over Carla Suarez Navarro.

The opening set remained on serve until 5-5, when a break for Kvitova handed the Czech the chance to serve for a one-set lead. However, Suarez Navarro broke straight back to send the set into a tie-break.

It was Kvitova who emerged victorious by 7-5, however, to lead against her powerful Spanish opponent.

It proved to be more straightforward in the second set, however, with Kvitova breaking at 2-3 before holding her next two service games to book her spot in the last eight.
