Aaron Harris: 'Competing against Team GB athletes is odd'

Team England triathlete Aaron Harris is looking forward to competing against athletes from Team GB, who are usually on his side.

Team England triathlete Aaron Harris has admitted that it will feel strange to compete against Team GB athletes who are usually on the same side.

Harris said that he expects the fiercest competition in the race to be on the bikes, but hopes that his knowledge of the course can give him an advantage.

"I thought I'd be a little bit more nervous," said Harris. "We race around ten times a year as a team so I'm amongst the same people and coaching team as normal.

"I'm used to competing as Great Britain but it was a bit weird going down to breakfast with my England kit on and seeing some of my normal team-mates in other colours.

"I've been here three times so I know to expect, especially from the bike course. It's a very honest course, it's undulating and twisty and turny and I think the majority of the race will happen on the bike."

Harris has two world top-10 finishes to his name so far this year.
