Australia's Torah Bright unhappy with "brutal" halfpipe

Torah Bright, an Australian snowboarder, says that the Sochi halfpipe facilities are "brutal".

Australia snowboarder Torah Bright has labelled the halfpipe facility in Sochi as "brutal" ahead of Wednesday's qualifiers.

Bright also condemned the snowboard slopestyle course after she finished seventh in yesterday's final, and said that the halfpipe is too narrow for the athletes to perform a number a tricks.

"It's brutal and all you can do is kinda laugh in there," Bright told Network Ten.

"The people who are constructing the 'pipe aren't the greatest at their craft and it makes it challenging for us. No one is able to ride their best today.

"We've had two days of training and you can't even link a run."

Bright went on to tell reporters that the halfpipe is "definitely not" up to standard.

The 27-year-old is the current women's halfpipe gold medal holder.
