Double Olympic gold medallist Martin Fourcade has said that Ole Einar Bjoerndalen has silenced his doubters after winning his 13th Winter Olympics medal.
The Norwegian biathlete broke the record for winning more Winter Olympic medals than any other athlete with gold in the mixed relay event.
Fourcade told reporters: "Last year everybody talked about him and said he has to retire. But I was one of the ones who trusted in him, today he shut the mouth of all the people who were speaking about him."
Bjoerndalen has won eight golds, four silvers and a bronze over six Games.
