Russian figure skater Yevgeny Plushenko says that he is now "not ruling out" a fifth Winter Olympic Games after he had announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Russian figure skater Yevgeny Plushenko has said that he is now "not ruling out" a fifth Winter Olympic Games after he had announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Plushenko had made the announcement after having to withdraw from the men's individual event in Sochi with a back injury.

"If need be, I'll have another 10 operations... I'm not ruling out that I'll go for a fifth Olympic Games," he told Russian state television."

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games will take place in PyeongChang.
