Murray Buchan: 'I am targeting 18th place'

Great Britain skier Murray Buchan admits that he wants to finish in 18th place in the half-pipe and will be bitterly disappointed if he fails to do so.

Great Britain freestyle skier Murray Buchan has revealed that he will be disappointed if he finished anything below 18th place in the half-pipe at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The 22-year-old will compete for the first time in the Games in Sochi, and has a good mind where he wants to finish when he competes in his event at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.

Buchan told the Team GB official website: "I never thought [freestyle skiing half-pipe] would be at the Olympics as it was only a few years ago that it got accepted.

"So the X Games was the real goal. Then as soon as the Olympics got announced the focus completely changed and I zoned in knowing that was what I really wanted to do.

"And now it is here I am targeting 18th. Anything less than 18th would be disappointing."

Buchan gets his campaign underway later today.
