David Murdoch: "I want the gold"

Great Britain's curling skip David Murdoch admits that the team only want the gold in Friday's final against Canada.

David Murdoch has said that winning the gold medal in curling at the Winter Olympics is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

The Great Britain skip sealed the team's place in the final with a last-stone victory against Sweden in the semi-finals earlier today.

The 35-year-old told the Team GB website: "I want the gold, you get this opportunity once in a lifetime and it's up to us to seize the day and make some incredible history.

"I'm delighted getting the medal I've worked so long for but we want the gold and we'll be pushing everything to get that.

"I hope it's our time. The curling Gods have been looking down on me this week and it makes a change. We have to go out there with confidence and no fear, go for it and believe it."

The Brits will take on Canada for the gold medal on Friday.
