Great Britain skeleton coach Andi Schmid believes that Lizzy Yarnold is an "extraordinary talent" and has an incredible work ethic.
The 25-year-old is widely tipped to medal in the skeleton after winning the World Cup title last month, and Schmid feels that her attitude and ability is unusual to see in a young athlete.
He told The Telegraph: "She's an extraordinary talent, an extraordinary slider, and she's absolutely focused on what she's doing. In the short period of time she's been an athlete she is someone who is always working on developing and learning and if things are not working, she asks, 'Why are they not working and what do I need to change?'
"This is not what you see typically in a young athlete, who usually has to be told to do this or do that. She's still that young athlete, being guided by all the coaches, but she's absolutely determined and wants to learn and improve on a daily basis, and that's what makes her so strong."
Yarnold will get her campaign underway later today.
