Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has passed the NFL's concussion protocol and he returned to practice on Wednesday.
Peterson was on the receiving end of a heavy hit from teammate Deone Bucannon after the rookie safety initially went through Philadelphia Eagles star Jeremy Maclin.
"I was kinda worried when I woke up because I was like, 'Oh man, I was knocked out for a second'. But at the moment, you're out there playing football, you play for those moments," Peterson said, ESPN reports.
The 24-year-old went through some light stretching during the open portion of practice and he is expected to resume normal training in the coming days.
Peterson also revealed that he regained his senses shortly after being sent to the locker room and so he was able to celebrate with his teammates which indicated that he had recovered from the hit.
