Bruce Arians: 'Deone Bucannon trying to be too perfect'

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians believes that rookie safety Deone Bucannon is trying to be too perfect during his side's practice sessions.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians believes that rookie safety Deone Bucannon's will to be perfect is affecting his play on the practice field.

The Cardinals selected Bucannon in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Washington State as a replacement for Adrian Wilson at strong safety, following his departure at the end of the 2012 season.

"[Deone has] only got one problem, he is so much a perfectionist," Arians told the team's official website. "It is paralysis by analysis right now because he wants to do everything just perfect.

"Even Tyrann [Mathieu] told him, 'Just play.' You can't play perfect all the time. But you do love that about him."

Bucannon recorded 114 tackles and six interceptions in the 2013 season.
