Ozzie Newsome: 'Ray Rice incident very concerning'

Baltimore Ravens general manager admits that the situation involving running back Ray Rice is "very concerning".

Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome has admitted that running back Ray Rice's arrest is "very concerning" for the team.

Rice was arrested along with his fiancee a week ago following an incident at an Atlantic City casino, while a video has since emerged showing him lifting her out of an elevator and propping her up after allegedly knocking her unconscious.

Newsome admitted that the video evidence did not look good, but echoed head coach John Harbaugh's desire to wait for all of the facts before deciding upon a course of action.

"In any of those situations, it's very concerning. Up until we get all of the facts, we will let the process run its course. I think John said it best - we will let facts determine what the consequences will be. I did [see the video] online, just like everybody else did and it doesn't look good," Newsome is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"But I'm going to reserve all of my comments up until I have a chance to talk to Ray. But what I've gotten ... the whole video needs to be reviewed. I don't know if anybody here has had the opportunity to talk to Ray. I don't know whether a different story is going to come out, the video is what it is. But like I said, until the process runs its course, we as an organization, we will stand down.

"As a league we have a conduct policy and being a member of the league, we will follow that from A to Z. Up until we get to that point, I mean, right now he falls under the personal conduct policy with the league and we will allow the league to take its position before we would have to take any."

Rice could face a fine or suspension from the NFL even if he is not convicted of a crime.
