Bernard Pollard has revealed that he played much of the 2012 NFL season with six broken ribs.
The Baltimore Ravens safety sustained the injury in the second week of the season, eventually missing the last three games before the playoffs.
Pollard told the Baltimore Sun: "It's tough dealing with pain. For us as football players, we know we're going to go through it.
"At the same time, that's the name of the game. Six of them, yep. Hey, it's up to us to go out there and play, and we did."
Pollard finished the regular season with 98 tackles, the highest on the team.
