The Baltimore Ravens have announced that they have released running back Ray Rice.
The 27-year-old was suspended for two games by the NFL for violating its policy on personal conduct following an incident involving his wife earlier this year, which resulted in his arrest.
However, new evidence came to light on Monday as a video was released by TMZ highlighting the violence involved in the attack in an Atlantic City hotel.
The club confirmed that they had released the running back in a statement.
The Ravens said on their official website: "The Ravens terminated the contract of running back Ray Rice on Monday afternoon."
Rice had been with John Harbaugh's side since 2008.
