Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has insisted that his side's past matches against the Seattle Seahawks mean nothing to him ahead of their NFC divisional-round meeting.
The 25-year-old has mustered only one touchdown in his last three games against the Seahawks, all of which have ended in defeat for Ron Rivera's men.
However, Newton is adamant that those past games will count for very little at Century Link Field on Saturday.
"I don't want to be blunt, but the last three years doesn't matter to me," Newton told reporters. "They're a different team. We're a different team. That's just the optimism of me speaking, but that's the truth, too.
"The questions about how do you feel about them scheming us up these past couple of years, it's different. We all know that it's different. If you're not, I'm telling you, it's different."
The Panthers are going into their match against the reigning Super Bowl champions on a five-game winning streak.
