The Chicago Bears have snapped up former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Trevor Scott on a contract for the upcoming 2014 season.
Scott was released by the Buccaneers last October having made four appearances for the season, albeit none as a starter.
"The Bears on Thursday signed defensive end Trevor Scott to a one-year contract," the club confirmed. "Scott has registered 94 career tackles, 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and one pass breakup as well as 20 tackles on special teams."
Scott was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2008 and although he has made 114 appearances in the NFL only 18 of these have been as a starter.
