Aaron Rodgers has told Geno Smith to "hang in there" after the West Virginia quarterback did not get drafted in the first round.
The 22-year-old had been tipped to be the first QB selected in this year's Draft, but the Buffalo Bills elected to take Florida State's EJ Manuel instead of Smith.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback tweeted: "Hang in there Geno, 'good things come to those who wait' - Paul Tagliabue"
Rodgers had expected to be drafted first in 2005, but had to wait until the 24th pick before Tagliabue, who was the league's commissioner at that time, announced that he had been chosen by the Packers.
