Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has suggested that he may choose the side's starting quarterback before the start of summer camps.
O'Brien has a choice between Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett, and has stated that he may make his decision based on the players' performances during organised team activities and minicamp.
"That decision may be made before training camp," O'Brien told NFL Media.
"They're out here competing every single day, and it's pretty intense. So, we may pick a guy very soon. And if we don't, and the decision does go into training camp, it'll be made pretty early on. The team needs to know who the guy is, and we need to go forward."
The Texans have yet to claim a Super Bowl since forming in 2002, having appeared in the playoffs twice but falling short before the showpiece.
