The Indianapolis Colts have fined Pat McAfee after he accidentally tweeted a nude photo of his teammate Andrew Luck.
The punter shared an image of kicker Adam Vinatieri being interviewed in the team's locker room following their win over the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend, but failed to spot the quarterback in a state of undress in the background.
The 26-year-old told the Indianapolis Star: "It was a very stupid mistake I made. The good thing is Andrew doesn't hate me. Yeah, I got fined. More than a dollar, less than $3m, which is good news. But it was completely expected and completed warranted.
"I didn't realise it until I was halfway home and my girlfriend got a text message. I immediately started to sweat. I was disgusted. I was worried that Andrew was going to hate me because he's such a good person.
"The last thing you want to do is sell out a teammate. I felt like I did that. He handled it so well, like the cool person he is. He said, 'No worries about it, dude.' I said, 'If it means anything to you, you look good'."
The Colts face the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs tomorrow.
