Teddy Bridgewater has admitted that he would accept starting the 2014 NFL season as the Minnesota Vikings' backup quarterback.
The rookie was the final pick in the first round of this year's Draft, and will face competition from Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder for the starting job.
The 21-year-old told ESPN: "It's not tough at all because I have nothing but my best interest for the team, and I'm very excited about this team that we have here. I'm just happy for this entire team.
"If I'm not the guy, then I know the coaches have the best interest for the team also. My teammates also have the best interest for the team.
"So in order for me to be a better player, I have to have the best interest for the team and want nothing but the best interest for the team."
Bridgewater took some first-team snaps with the team this week, but Cassel has had the majority of the workload with the starters so far this off-season.
