Jason Pierre-Paul: 'I'm making progress'

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul says that he is improving on the field following off-season back surgery.

Jason Pierre-Paul has said that he is continuing to make progress following off-season surgery on his lower back.

The New York Giants defensive end has featured in every game so far this season for the NFC East side, making 17 tackles and one sack.

The 24-year-old told the team's official website: "To be honest, I wasn't expecting to be Superman. I'm pretty sure the coaches weren't expecting me to be Superman, either. It's back surgery.

"I went through rehab and got back for the first game. I wasn't a big factor in some games, but as time goes on, I see myself getting better and am starting to get my legs back a little bit. I'm happy with that, just to see that I still have it.

"It's going to take some time, but right now all I can do is go out there and play my best game. Some people don't have any sacks out there. I'm just blessed to have one sack and I'm just trying to get another one."

Pierre-Paul has two Pro Bowl appearances since coming into the league in 2010.
