Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Chuck Noll, who won four Super Bowls with the team, has died at the age of 82.
NFL Media announced that the Hall of Fame coach passed away from natural causes at his Pittsburgh home yesterday.
Team president Art Rooney II, whose grandfather founded the franchise, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Chuck Noll is the best thing to happen to the Rooneys since they got on the boat in Ireland."
Noll, who had a brief playing career as a tackle for the Cleveland Browns, was in charge of the team for 23 seasons from 1969 to 1991.
