The NFL have handed Terence Garvin a $25,000 (£15,000) fine for his illegal hit on punter Kevin Huber.
The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker injured the Cincinnati Bengals man during Sunday's divisional clash, with the news coming on Tuesday that Huber would miss the remainder of the season thanks to the broken jaw and injured neck that he received.
NFL.com reporter Albert Breer has confirmed that Garvin will appeal the fine.
Breer said via his Twitter page: "Steelers LB Terence Garvin has been fined $25,000 for his hit on Bengals P Kevin Huber."
As a result of the tackle, Huber has now been placed on injured reserve and is not expected to be fit again until the start of next season.
