San Diego Chargers general manager Tom Telesco targets "offensive weapons"

Tom Telesco says that it is important to "infuse some speed" into the San Diego Chargers offense this summer.

San Diego Chargers general manager Tom Telesco has said that he is hoping to strengthen the team's offensive options during the coming off-season.

Telesco gave his year-ending address to the media on Wednesday, talking about a range of topics, including the current players, coaches and the supporters.

However, going forward, Telesco is targeting a slight shake-up on the attacking side of the football.

He told reporters: "I think offensively we can probably infuse some speed to be honest. The more weapons we can give Philip Rivers, the better. For me, it's important, although we want to keep the core of this team together. When I arrived here last year there was already a great core of players here that we inherited and we're very lucky to have.

"You have to have those guys to teach the rookies and the young guys the right and wrong way to do things. A lot of it is taught as far as preparations and what you need to do to be a pro."

The Chargers lost their divisional weekend clash to the Denver Broncos last season but surpassed early season expectations.
