San Francisco 49ers have reignited their interest in free agent cornerback Eric Wright.
Wright was set to join the 49ers from Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month but the move broke down when the 28-year-old failed a physical, and Tampa Bay went on to release him.
However, San Francisco have since lost fellow cornerback Chris Culliver to a season-ending knee injury and are looking at Wright to replace the 24-year-old.
Asked whether there had been contact between the 49ers and Wright, coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters: "I believe so. We're assessing. I don't have a crystal ball, but there's a process."
Wright had only spent one season at the Buccaneers despite signing a five-year contract with the franchise.
