San Francisco 49ers star Aldon Smith has returned from his nine-game suspension and was expected to participate in Tuesday's team walkthrough.
Smith was suspended for violating the league's policy on personal conduct and substances of abuse, and although he was allowed to be around the team during his suspension, he was unable to participate in on-field activities.
The 25-year-old's return will provide the 49ers with a boost on the defensive end as the franchise looks to build on their win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Patrick Willis is expected to return from a toe injury in the coming weeks while NaVorro Bowman is also hopeful of a return in the near future.
The 49ers are currently 5-4 for the season but they sit third in the NFC West behind both the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
