Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan has insisted that he would not prefer to see Zach Mettenberger start at quarterback over Marcus Mariota.
Reports have suggested that some of the Titans want Mettenberger to be given the chance to start the 2015 season over Mariota, who was selected with the second-overall pick in the 2015 Draft by the AFC South side.
However, Lewan is adamant that he does not care who starts at quarterback as long as the player starting deserves to feature in the role.
"That's not the case at all," Lewan told the Tennessean. "If people want to put stuff out there like that, that's fine. I mean, in this locker room, I have nothing against Marcus at all. I've just known Zach for longer.
"So it's not necessarily rooting for someone. I'm rooting for the best players to play on this team. If there's a better left tackle on this team than me, then I expect him to play and I expect us to win.
"I don't care about anything but winning games. So when it comes to the business perspective, I don't care who the quarterback is."
Mettenberger threw for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns to seven interceptions for Tennessee last season.
