Kyle Korver undergoes successful surgery

Atlanta Hawks star Kyle Korver undergoes successful surgery on ligament damage in his right ankle.

Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver underwent surgery on his right ankle in New York on Wednesday night to repair ligament damage.

It is understood that it will take approximately three months to make a full recovery, during which Korver will continue with a rehabilitation program.

The Hawks star suffered the injury when Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova rolled into him while they pursued a loose ball during the Eastern Conference finals.

The injury was initially diagnosed as a severe high right ankle sprain, but a second opinion revealed the full severity of the problem.

In 14 playoff games this season, Korver averaged 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
