NBA roundup: Philadelphia 76ers continue winning streak

The Philadelphia 76ers extended their winning run to three games on Saturday night thanks to a surprise 107-104 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Michael Carter-Williams once again starred for the Sixers at the Wells Fargo Center as he recorded 26 points, four rebounds and 10 assists in only his third game in the NBA.

There was also a third victory of the season for the Indiana Pacers, who cruised past the Cleveland Cavaliers with an 89-74 triumph.

Paul George scored 21 points and claimed 13 rebounds as a strong finish from the hosts ensured that their unbeaten run continued.

The New Orleans Pelicans secured a 105-84 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats thanks largely to an outstanding performance from Anthony Davis.

Last season's number one pick in the Draft made a career-high six blocks and also posted 25 points to give the franchise its first victory in the NBA.

Shawn Marion scored 21 points and claimed 14 rebounds, while Dirk Nowitzki also added 24 points of his own as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Mavericks struggled with their shooting from the field but a 111-99 win at the American Airlines Center helped them change their record to 2-1.

Rudy Gay posted 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Toronto Raptors claimed a 97-90 over the Milwaukee Bucks, who were condemned to defeat in their first home game of the campaign.

The Raptors were ahead by 12 points at the start of the fourth quarter but the Bucks failed to make the crucial shots as they applied the pressure in the closing stages.

James Harden and Chandler Parsons shared 47 points for the Houston Rockets as they fought back to beat the Utah Jazz 104-93 at the EnergySolutions Arena.

The Jazz did lead by 56-37 late in the second quarter but an improved second-half displays helped the Rockets continue their unbeaten streak.

Tim Duncan scored 24 points in a losing effort as the San Antonio Spurs lost their first game of the season to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Damian Lillard scored 25 points for the Blazers and LaMarcus Aldridge added another 24 to secure victory in their first home game of the season.

The Golden State Warriors eased to a 98-87 win over the Sacramento Kings, with Klay Thompson continuing his own run of impressive form by scoring 27 points.

Stephen Curry recorded five three-point efforts as he added 22 at the Oracle Arena.
