Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler missed the second half of the win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night, with an MRI scan revealing that he had sustained a shoulder strain.
Butler appeared to re-aggravate the injury in the second quarter after a heavy collision with Kings big man Reggie Evans and did not return after the interval.
Butler has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that he would still travel to New York for All-Star weekend, according to ESPN.
The 25-year-old remains scheduled to participate in both the All-Star skills challenge on Saturday and Sunday's All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
