Mike Conley has been ruled out of the Memphis Grizzlies' opening game in their Western Conference semi-final playoff series against the Golden State Warriors.
The point guard underwent surgery to repair several fractures to his face last week, and was officially declared out after completing warmups while wearing a protective mask.
Conley missed the Grizzlies' final two games of their series win over the Portland Trail Blazers as a result of the surgery, which was needed after CJ McCollum caught him with an elbow in game three of the first round.
Conley averaged 16 points per game in his three post-season appearances against the Trail Blazers.
