The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Karl-Anthony Towns with the first pick in the 2015 NBA Draft in Brooklyn on Thursday night.
The 19-year-old center had been tipped for the number one picks for a number of weeks after electing to leave Kentucky just one year into his college career.
Duke center Jahlil Okafor had previously been rumoured to be a possible choice for the Timberwolves, but he slipped down to third in the Draft as the Los Angeles Lakers elected to draft Ohio State point guard D'Angelo Russell.
The Philadelphia 76ers decided to jump at the chance to take Okafor's services, while Kristaps Porzingis and Mario Hezonja completed the top five after being selected by the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic respectively.
