Report: Vinny Del Negro meets with New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans reportedly interview former Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro for their coaching vacancy.

Vinny Del Negro has reportedly been interviewed by the New Orleans Pelicans for their coaching vacancy.

The team fired Monty Williams following their exit from the first round of the playoffs, resulting in former New York Knicks coach Jeff van Gundy and now-fired Chicago Bulls boss Tom Thibodeau being linked with the vacancy.

However, Yahoo Sports reports that Del Negro, who has previously coached the Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers, has met with Pelicans general manager Dell Demps to discuss the position.

Del Negro has not coached in the NBA since his contract with the Clippers expired in 2013.
