Carmelo Anthony won't waive no-trade clause

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony dismisses a report suggesting that he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause.

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has insisted that he does not want to waive his no-trade clause and seek a move elsewhere.

The New York Post reported on Friday that Anthony would be willing to drop the no-trade clause if the Knicks found a trade partner suitable to his liking.

However, after his agent initially dismissed the report, Anthony told reporters that he was not going to leave New York.

"Come on, man. After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind," Anthony told reporters.

"I've never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I'm not going to pick today to do that."

The Knicks have now lost 10 consecutive games as they slip to their worst start to a season in their 69-year franchise history.
