LeBron James wins the fourth MVP title of his career with a landslide victory.

Miami Heat star LeBron James has been named as the NBA's Most Valuable Player of the season.

The 28-year-old was one vote away from a clean sweep of nominations but instead claimed 120 out of 121 first-placed picks, while Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant was a distant second with Carmelo Anthony of the New York City Knicks finishing third.

It is the fourth time in James's career that he has picked up the MVP accolade, with all of his wins coming in the past five years.

In a season where the Heat finished with the best league record, James averaged 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists during the 2012-13 regular campaign.

James joins an elite group of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to have won the award on four or more occasions.
