The Orlando Magic are on the verge of firing head coach Jacque Vaughn, according to league sources.
The Magic lost their seventh straight game on Thursday night and a source close to the situation has said that the team's management has decided to relieve Vaughn of his duties, ESPN reports.
Vaughn is in his third year as Orlando's coach after previously serving under San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich as an assistant.
While it is understood that the front office were patient with the 39-year-old as they attempted to rebuild the roster, they had expected better results given the talent in the current team.
It is reported that the Magic will likely promote one of their assistant coaches to interim head coach before making a permanent appointment in the summer.
