Nottingham fighter Carl Froch loses his world title to Andre Ward after a unanimous points decision in Atlantic City.

Andre Ward outclassed Carl Froch in the final of the Super Six in Atlantic City to claim the Nottingham fighter's WBC super-middleweight title.

Froch, 34, failed to ever impose himself on the American, whose lightning speed proved too much to handle.

He regularly caught out Froch with left hooks and jabs and now has a pro record of 25 wins and no losses.

Froch did look dangerous in the final two rounds but, barring a knockout, the result was already sewn up.

"I couldn't really get anything going, he was too slippery," said Froch.

"I wanted to put my shots together but he moves low and slips and slides, he's very clever up close.

"It was very frustrating for me tonight. Fair play to him."

The loss is the 10th of 12 world title fights for British boxers this year and Nathan Cleverly is now the country's sole world champion.
