England head coach Trevor Bayliss has claimed that Alex Hales could lose his spot in the top of the order in this winter's Test tour in Bangladesh and India.
The 27-year-old put his name in the history books with a one-day international record score of 171 at Trent Bridge last week.
However, he struggled to rack up runs during England's Test campaign in the summer.
When asked by reporters if a change to the batting order could happen, Bayliss said: "Possibly. There have been some young players making some runs, who are coming into calculations, which is very exciting. That's obviously one of the talking points around the selection table."
Lancashire teenager Haseeb Hameed is believed to be one of the young cricketers to catch the selectors' eyes.
