Sri Lanka were bowled out for 407 at lunch in their second innings in day four of the first Test against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval tonight.
The Kiwis will look to bridge a 104-run deficit when they take to the crease in the next session for their second innings.
Tim Southee was in fine form as the bowler removed captain Angelo Matthews (66) early on and Paskuwal Kaushal (12) to leave Sri Lanka with three wickets remaining.
He then took his third wicket of the session - fourth of the innings - to remove Dhammika Prasad (4).
Mark Craig and Trent Boult then finished off the tourists by taking out Prasanna Jayawardene and Suranga Lakmal respectively to leave New Zealand big favourites to draw first blood in the opening Test.
