Lancashire release Kabir Ali after two seasons

Lancashire release injury-hampered Kabir Ali after two seasons with the county.

Paceman Kabir Ali has been released by Lancashire after just two seasons at the club due to injury problems.

The 33-year-old, who played limited-overs cricket for the county last summer, suffered a shoulder injury at the end of the season.

"My injury came at the wrong time and I will assess my situation after my rehabilitation in six months' time," said Ali.

Ali, who is the cousin of England's Moeen Ali, has one international Test cap to his name and has featured in 14 one-day matches.

The bowler spent 11 years at Worcestershire before joining the Red Rose.
