Luke Wright backs Tymal Mills to make England impact

Luke Wright believes that Sussex bowler Tymal Mills can make an impact at international level ahead of his first season in Hove.

Luke Wright has claimed that Sussex teammate Tymal Mills has the potential to build a successful England career in the future.

Mills, who is considered the fastest bowler on the county circuit, moved from Essex to Hove last year, and Wright insists that he has seen enough to suggest that the 22-year-old can make an impact at international level if he remains injury-free.

"It's nice to get to the main games now so he can hit the opposition instead of us. He's very exciting, we've seen him before when he was bowling at the England team. He was marked out then as someone for the future," Sussex's one-day captain told Sky Sports News.

"He's got himself really fit and I can see him in an England jersey at some point. He's exciting and hopefully he can put in some big performances.

"Hopefully Mills can be that person, first for Sussex, but then for England in the future. He's still young, he's still learning the game. We don't want to put too much pressure on him too early. But he's certainly a very, very exciting prospect."

Mills has taken 52 wickets in 30 first-class matches at an average of just over 36.
