The PDC has handed a Premier League debut to Joe Cullen on the back of his Masters victory on Sunday night.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that a revamped eight-player tournament would take place in 2022 with the lineup being confirmed after the conclusion of the Masters.
The top seven in the world rankings were realistically guaranteed a spot in the tournament, with Sports Mole of the understanding that Rob Cross, Jose De Sousa and Dimitri van den Bergh were the main contenders for the final place.
However, Cullen has been given the nod ahead of that trio due to his performance in Milton Keynes, the 32-year-old beating Gary Anderson, Michael van Gerwen, De Sousa and Dave Chisnall to win his first televised title.
Cullen joins Gerwyn Price, Peter Wright, Van Gerwen, James Wade, Michael Smith, Anderson and defending champion Jonny Clayton for the 17-week competition.
The first event takes place in Cardiff on Thursday.
