Raymond van Barneveld stuns Phil Taylor in Premier League

Defending champion Raymond van Barneveld defies an 115.80 average from Phil Taylor to win 7-4 in their Premier League match in Glasgow.

Raymond van Barneveld has boosted his hopes of Premier League survival with a 7-4 victory over Phil Taylor in Glasgow.

The defending champion found himself behind in the early stages before taking seven out of nine legs to run out a convincing winner, despite Taylor averaging 115.80 and hitting nine maximums.

Dutch compatriot Michael van Gerwen remains top of the standings after he overcame Dave Chisnall 7-3 in a match dominated by missed doubles.

2015 PDC world champion Gary Anderson has moved into second spot by beating Kim Huybrechts 7-5 in an encounter which also saw him miss double 12 for a nine-darter.

Adrian Lewis's contest with James Wade and Stephen Bunting's meeting with Peter Wright both ended in 6-6 draws.
