Mikel Arteta: 'Aaron Ramsey gives us something extra'

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta praises Aaron Ramsey for his impressive goalscoring record.

Arsenal skipper Mikel Arteta has compared Aaron Ramsey to the club's former captain Cesc Fabregas.

The Welshman struck late on for the Gunners as they started their Premier League season with a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"Aaron is on fire," The Express quotes him as saying. "When you have a player like this coming from midfield to score that many goals, it gives you something extra.

"We don't have a 30 or 40 goal scorer at the moment, so to have players who can score from the middle of the park is very important.

"He reminds me of Cesc Fabregas when he was here. At his best, he was coming off the front, making the final ball and scoring important goals."

Ramsey scored 16 goals in all competitions for Arsenal last season.
