Thierry Henry tips Arsenal for Premier League title challenge

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry hopes that the current crop of Gunners can kick on from their successive FA Cup wins by winning the Premier League in 2015-16.

Thierry Henry has said that he is hopeful Arsenal's back-to-back FA Cup triumphs will prove to be the building blocks for a Premier League title win next season.

The Gunners won the competition for a second successive year by thumping Aston Villa 4-0 in the final last month.

Arsene Wenger's side finished a disappointing 12 points behind Premier League champions Chelsea in third following a ragged first half of the season.

However, Henry, a prominent figure when Arsenal followed their FA Cup win in 2003 with their 'Invincible' title success the following year, hopes that history can repeat itself in North London.

"It's a difficult task to win the FA Cup back to back, but they have done that," he told the club's official website.

"You could see right from the start [against Villa] that Arsenal were going to win the game, and that made it easier for us fans to watch - it was less nerve-racking than the year before.

"So the progress is there, now what we are waiting for is the consistency in the league because that is very important. That is where you can judge a team, in the league. Having said that, our generation started by winning the cup and went on to win a double and stayed unbeaten - that is all I can hope for this group to do."

Arsenal will kick off the 2015-16 season by hosting West Ham United.
