Jack Wilshere demands fast Arsenal start

Arsenal ace Jack Wilshere warns his teammates that they will miss out on Premier League glory again unless they enjoy a fast start to the upcoming Premier League season.

Jack Wilshere has warned his Arsenal teammates that a fast and furious start to the new Premier League season could hold the key to ending their 11-year wait for the title.

The Gunners finished third last term courtesy of their red-hot form from February to May, winning 28 points from a possible 30 in a 10-match unbeaten streak.

Nevertheless, Arsene Wenger's side found themselves too far adrift of leaders Chelsea following an indifferent first half of the campaign.

However, Wilshere is optimistic that his teammates can discover the consistency that eluded them last time around as they look to clinch their first league title since 2004.

"We didn't start the season well last year but the way we finished it, if we had played the whole season like that then we could have been champions," the midfielder told the club's official website.

"If we continue our form from the end of last season when we dominated games with our possession, and we won the ball back in better positions high up the pitch, then we've got a real chance."

They kick off their league season by hosting West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on August 9.
