Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson feels that his good early season form is all down to getting the chance to play regularly in a settled back four.

Carl Jenkinson has admitted that gaining regular first-team football has been instrumental in his purple patch of form.

The 20-year-old has been ever-present in the Premier League this season, taking a chance to play regularly with Bacary Sagna out injured.

Jenkinson told the club's official website that he finally feels comfortable among esteemed company at the Emirates.

He said: "I am happy with how things are going at the moment, I think I am starting to get the best out of myself.

"I am playing regularly and I think that is important for any player, for me especially. My fitness is a big part of my game and you only really get that from matches, and obviously I am playing regularly at the moment. I feel fit and strong and I feel I am getting there now.

"I feel like I am progressing game by game, I have got to continue to do that. I think a player always works on his weaknesses and I have been working on things I think I can improve on."

The former Charlton defender has been linked with a call-up for England this week as Roy Hodgson bids to persuade Jenkinson to turn down the chance to play for Finland.
