Manchester City defender Eric Garcia is stretchered off with a serious-looking injury after a worrying clash with teammate Ederson.

Manchester City defender Eric Garcia has suffered a serious-looking injury during a sickening collision with teammate Ederson at the Etihad Stadium this evening.

The 19-year-old was chasing a ball back towards his own goal when Ederson came off his line and clattered into his Spanish teammate while clearing the danger.

Garcia then received lengthy treatment, including being given oxygen by club doctors, before being carefully lifted onto a stretcher and carried off when Man City were leading Arsenal 2-0.

The injury led to 11 minutes of added time being signalled by the fourth official, during which Man City added a third goal through Phil Foden.

After the match Man City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Garcia may need to go to hospital for further checks, although he also revealed that the Spaniard is conscious.
